HOW CAN I PREVENT OR AVOID A SHOULDER INJURY WHEN WEIGHTLIFTING?

The shoulder joint can be subjected to much stress and strain for weight trainers and physically active people, especially during pressing movements.

Bauerfeind shoulder braces and supports protect and help with treatment and recovery by providing enhanced stability, proprioception, and medical-grade compression.

Some of the most common forms of injury include rotator cuff tendinitis, bursitis, and rotator cuff tear. Bauerfeind shoulder braces have a unique design that guides and centres the arm in the socket to ensure a stable shoulder, yet allows full mobility.

A good shoulder brace for weight lifting includes the OmoTrain, which relieves injured or strained shoulders. The shoulder brace is made with a stretchable, breathable, and moisture-wicking flat knit that prevents overheating during training sessions.

Protect your shoulder joint so you can bench, push and pull through multiple reps without injury.

    • Viscoelastic soft pad – Massaging nubs reduce swelling and relieve pain in the soft tissue.
    • High elasticity – Makes it easy to put the shoulder support on and take it off.
    • The special chest-free wearing system – leaves the chest area free and does not restrict breathing for excellent wearing comfort.

WHAT HELPS SHOULDER PAIN WHEN LIFTING WEIGHTS?

If you experience pain, stop exercising immediately and apply an ice pack two to three times a day for 20 minutes. Take pain-relieving medication such as ibuprofen, and see your doctor to see if your rotator cuff has been damaged.

HOW TO TREAT COMMON SHOULDER INJURIES FROM WEIGHTLIFTING?

    • Rotator Cuff Tear. Strengthening exercises from your physiotherapist can be a form of conservative treatment for rotator cuff tears. If your injury is severe with a full or partial tear of the muscle or tendons, surgery may be the most appropriate.
    • Rotator Cuff Tendinitis. Tendinitis occurs over time due to repetitive and prolonged shoulder movements, which result in inflamed or irritated tendons. It can be treated through adequate rest and avoidance of activities that cause pain, anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy and steroid injections. For more severe symptoms, surgery would be an appropriate treatment option.

Play it safe: Consult a doctor if you experience unusually intense and persistent shoulder pain.
