EDS Braces – Joint Stability Support

EDS Braces for Hypermobility, Instability & Daily Support

Whether you’re living with hypermobility, managing joint instability or supporting day-to-day movement, these braces help provide reliable stability and comfort.

Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) often means dealing with hypermobility, joint instability, frequent sprains, and ongoing pain. Because EDS affects connective tissue, joints in the ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, and wrists can move beyond their safe range, leading to subluxations, dislocations, and fatigue with even everyday tasks.

That’s where the right EDS brace or hypermobility support can make a meaningful difference.

Support for Hypermobility & Joint Instability

Our EDS braces use a combination of medical-grade compression knit, anatomic stays, and targeted gel padding to stabilise vulnerable joints. This helps to:

• Reduce excessive movement
• Improve proprioception and joint awareness
• Decrease the risk of sprains and subluxations
• Provide gentle, reliable support for daily activity

Research shows that structured support can reduce pain, minimise recurring sprains (especially in the ankles), reduce subluxation risk in wrists, shoulders, knees, and hips, and improve functional independence.

Comfort That Works With Your Body

EDS often comes with sensitivities – so comfort isn’t optional.

Our supports are breathable, lightweight, soft against the skin, and shaped to move naturally with the joint. They’re engineered in Germany with decades of clinical research behind them, giving you stability without stiffness or bulk.

Designed for Everyday Life

Whether you need an ankle brace to prevent rolling, a wrist support to limit hyperextension, or a shoulder or knee brace for daily tasks, our range is built to help you stay active and supported with confidence.

Find answers to the most common questions.

Does everyone with EDS need these braces?

EDS is divided into 13 different types of disorder, each affecting different parts of the body in different ways. The most common of these by far is HEDS (hyperextensive ehlers danlos syndrome). Among it's many symptoms, subluxation and hyperextension of the joints is one of the more common ones. This means that most people affected by EDS will benefit from our supports.

Will these weaken my muscles?

While cheaper and less effective braces can cause an issue known as reliance (where the muscles become weaker and rely on the brace), Bauerfeind have perfected the blend of stability and movement. By restricting or immobilising specific parts of the ankle that need it, and freeing up the rest, you can continue to exercise, building and maintaining strength in the joint.

Can I wear these all day?

Virtually all our medical supports are designed to be worn for any length of time, whether it's half an hour after exercise to recover the muscle, or first thing in the morning to last thing at night.

How do I take care of these products?

Virtually all of our products can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle and air dried out of direct sunlight. Putting them on and taking them off carefully is recommended, and for specific product care, refer to the product manual or contact our friendly staff.

Is there warranty for these products?

Every Bauerfeind product is crafted with precision and care and is covered by a manufacturing warranty in accordance with Consumer Law. Warranty periods may vary subject to product range. At any point if you've got issues with the product or aren't sure if something is wrong, just contact our helpful staff.

How do I know they'll fit?

Bauerfeind have an incredibly extensive sizing system for our products based off of hundreds of thousands of patient measurements. The perfect anatomic fit system we use means that the supports are designed to fit your body, not the other way around. (We also offer custom options for a range of our products for those rare few who still can't fit into our sizing range).
