Ligament Knee Braces – Joint Stability

Ligament Knee Braces for Stability & Recovery

Knee ligament injuries are incredibly common – especially among athletes. Whether it’s an MCL strain, an ACL sprain, an LCL tear, or general ligament instability, the right brace can make a significant difference. A ligament knee brace helps stabilise the joint, reduce strain on damaged tissue, and support safe, confident movement.

How a Ligament Knee Brace Helps

Our braces are engineered to:

• Support the MCL, LCL, ACL and surrounding structures
• Reduce unwanted lateral and rotational movement
• Improve knee alignment and stability during activity
• Manage swelling with targeted compression
• Promote confident return to walking, training, or sport

From mild sprains to more complex ligament injuries, these supports help you move safely while recovering properly.

Engineered for Reliable Support

Each ligament brace incorporates:

• Anatomic stays for controlled stability
• Adjustable straps for personalised support
• Optional hinge systems to guide or limit range of motion
• Medical-grade compression knit (in selected models) to activate muscles and enhance proprioception

This combination protects the knee while improving comfort and functional control.

Developed With Clinicians

Decades of research and collaboration with physiotherapists and sports doctors underpin every design. Whether you’re managing a ligament sprain or preventing re-injury, you’re supported by proven medical engineering.

Why are the ligaments in my knee important?

Your knee has four main ligaments, the ACL, PCL, MCL and LCL. These connect the bones together and stabilise your movement, without them your knee would slide about and leave you laying on the ground with every step. Each one has their own specific role, whether stabilising you while you run, helping you land on the ground or just turning the corner.

Will these weaken my muscles?

While cheaper and less effective braces can cause an issue known as reliance (where the muscles become weaker and rely on the brace), Bauerfeind have perfected the blend of stability and movement. By restricting or immobilising specific parts of the ankle that need it, and freeing up the rest, you can continue to exercise, building and maintaining strength in the joint.
