As one of the pioneers of compression technology, we have years of expertise in developing products that can drastically improve the quality of life for our customers. With hundreds of 5 star reviews, you can trust that our products will provide you with the support you need.

Our GenuTrain knee brace was released in 1981 and since then we have worked tirelessly to develop the best quality and most effective braces and supports possible. Our knee braces can be used throughout your daily activities as well as during sport.

If you're not sure which product is right for you, you can always contact us by phone or email to talk to one of our product fitting specialists.

Find answers to the most common questions.

What is real medical grade compression?

The two basic components of true “medical-grade compression” are gradient compression and minimum compression levels.

Gradient compression means the compression is strongest farthest away from the centre of the body/heart and slowly loosens as it goes closer to the centre of the body.

Medical-grade compression levels are in the “sweet spot” for improving circulation and removing lactic-acid and other fluid build up. Unlike most other 'active wear' and retail compression available in Australia (that are not gradient and provide much lower grade compression), Bauerfeind compression is true medical grade.

What's the difference between the Originals and Performance lines?

Both lines offer medical-grade compression and have the same medical benefits of increased healing blood-flow, stability and proprioception.

Sports Performance Supports are ideal for shorter bursts of intense activity (like a workout or a basketball game), whereas our Originals Medical Supports are softer and more comfortable for all-day wear.

Performance braces and supports are great for injury prevention, but if you already have an injury you're trying to recover from, we’d recommend going with an Originals brace or support.

How do I make sure I get a perfect fit?

When you go to purchase your Bauerfeind product, you'll be guided through our fitting process to ensure you get the size that's right for you.

We understand that this process can be a little bit more tricky than some other brands and products, but we've developed a diverse sizing range based on data from over 500 000 people to ensure that there's a product for everyone. A properly fitted brace or support will provide the best possible support and comfort.

If you order a product that isn't quite right, you can always take advantage of our 30 day returns and exchanges policy.

How do I take care of these products?

Virtually all of our products can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle and air dried out of direct sunlight. Putting them on and taking them off carefully is recommended, and for specific product care, refer to the product manual or contact our friendly staff.

What is the warranty for these products?

All supports and insoles come with a 12 month warranty, and compression stockings with a 3 month warranty for any manufacturers faults. At any point if you've got issues with the product or aren't sure if something is wrong, just contact our helpful staff.

How do I know they'll fit?

Bauerfeind have an incredibly extensive sizing system for our products based off of hundreds of thousands of patient measurements. The perfect anatomic fit system we use means that the supports are designed to fit your body, not the other way around. (We also offer custom options for a range of our products for those rare few who still can't fit into our sizing range).
